This is a solid Teak, fully assembled, garden bench, wonderfully designed and expertly crafted. The 3-4 seater garden bench measures 180cm long, 90cms high and 55cms deep. The seat is slightly curved for additional comfort.
Sometimes called a Lutyens bench, the Marlborough is a quality example of Sir Edwin Lutyens classic, 100 year old design.
The beauty of teak garden furniture is that you can either choose to treat the wood or leave it as it is. To treat the wood you will have to purchase some Teak oil or Linseed oil. Teak is a naturally light colour, in its natural condition, and applying oil will instantly change the colour to a mid brown. The oil will protect the wood against the sun, which would burn out the natural oils in the wood. However, to keep this look you will have to oil the bench at least twice a year and possibly more. If you do not decide to oil the bench, the wood will weather naturally over a couple of years and will turn a "silver grey" colour.
Natural fissures, or cracks, can appear in hardwoods, particularly Teak, and these are quite normal. They are not a fault with the wood. Oiling the wood constantly may prevent these cracks as the wood does not dry out because of the effects of the sun.
Add this garden bench to you garden collection and it's sure to be a feature and a talking point! A wonderful piece of outdoor furniture.
