Rattan Style Outdoor Furniture
This garden furniture does exactly what it says on the tin! PVC rattan style garden tables and chairs that will withstand all the different types of weather during the summer and winter. Generally speaking, the chairs are constructed on an aluminium frame and the resin weave is hand woven to give the natural rattan look. Some weaves are plain and some are two or more colours and this adds to the Rattan style by giving the furniture a more authentic appearance. To give a little more detail, the chairs are constructed on an aluminium frame, tubular aluminium which is shaped to the desired chair design. Being aluminium, it is sturdy and rust free and light enough to enable the chairs to be moved around freely and easily. To complete the chair, the long strands of PVC are hand woven to the required design and, as you can imagine, this is an intricate and time consuming excercise. It is a skilled job and, of course, all the chairs have to look identical when they are finished, so no room for error. Some of the PVC strands have two colours or maybe even a fleck built in when they are made and this adds to the "Rattan" effect, allowing the finished garden table or chair look like to real thing. The difference being that these items do not require any attention, such as painting or varnishing and are resistant to the harmful elements of the sun and rain. Simply hosing down or cleaning with warm soapy water will refresh the look and remove the dirt. So although the materials used in the production of these sets are purely synthetic, the manufacturing methods are very similar to the real Rattan methods and the finished article is a quality piece of workmanship.
