The Aruba hammock is available in three colours and this one featured is the Vanilla colour. A hammock really designed for one person but it will withstand a weight limit of 180Kg (28 stones), so it's pretty robust. The Vanilla design consists of varying width stripes, end to end, based mostly on Canary yellow.
This hammock is supplied with "spreader bars" which are already incorporated into the structure. These spreaders are 80cms wide and so that would be the width of the hammock. However, the material is 120cms wide, so that means there is plenty of room for comfort. The manufacturer recommends that you should lie diagonally across a hammock, to keep your back as straight as possible and so the width of the material allows this to a certain extent. The material is 210cms in length and when you add the hanging chords, the overall length is 310cms. Of course the chords are already sewn into the materials, so it's ready to use on arrival. Hanging ropes or hooks are not included.
This Aruba hammock is made of EllTex, which is a mixture of polyester and cotton designed so that it hardly fades and stays extremely tearproof, even after getting wet. On top it is snug and soft - just like pure cotton. The Aruba is manufactured in Brazil by Amazonas, a company which has its own factory and produces the hammocks employing local people. It does not employ children!
These hammocks have been independently tested to ensure that they are Eco friendly and are free from any hamful substances, thus making them safe for children.
If you don't have any naturally occuring supports, you may wish to consider purchasing a strong hammock stand. There are several available from Amazonas on this site with laminated wooden stands (Arcus, Olymp and Apollo) and a tubular steel stand (Vario) fitting this hammock. There is also a stand (Madera) just for one end of the hammock, if you have one suitable tree in your garden!
Extremely strong and yet not expensive, we feel that the Amazonas hammocks offer real value for money and you should get bags of fun from this practical and hard wearing hammock.
